15 days of adventure through the oldest desert on Earth, past elephants, under a starlit sky you will never forget. Small group. Local guides. Authentic encounters.
Lion Expedition is for people who don't want to visit Africa – they want to understand it. Who want to feel the red sand beneath their feet. Who sit by the campfire and listen to the lion in the distance. Who want to understand why this land never lets you go.
Every tour is a narrative arc: seven acts that build emotionally upon each other – from the silence of the Namib Desert to the adrenaline rush in Swakopmund to the deep calm of the Kavango River.
That's not a marketing line. That's a Tuesday morning in Etosha.
Every reason is based on real experience – no catalog promises.
No light. No noise. Just you and the Milky Way above Spitzkoppe. That evening, you understand why people change their lives.
No glass between you and the elephant at the waterhole. Etosha in dry season: concentrated wildlife density that leaves even seasoned safari-goers speechless.
Sossusvlei. Red dunes that are 80 million years old. DeadVlei: white clay pan, black trees, orange sand. No photo does it justice.
The best conversations of your life don't happen in meetings. They happen by the fire, Windhoek Lager in hand, under an African sky.
Local communities sharing their stories. No staged cultural program. Real people, real moments. That shapes you more than any landmark.
The largest waterfall on Earth. The moment you look back on 15 days that changed everything. The thunder of water as an exclamation mark.

You land. The heat hits you like a wall. Red sand, endless sky. Today you meet the group, explore Windhoek and leave the jetlag behind. Evening: your first Windhoek Lager. It begins.
The oldest desert on Earth.

From the desert to the sea. German colonial architecture meets surfer culture. Quad biking in the dunes, catamaran with dolphins and seals, fresh fish at the harbor. The perfect contrast to the desert act.

The "Matterhorn of Africa". Granite rocks millions of years old. Here, the most important thing happens: nothing. Camping in absolute silence. The stars are so clear you can see the Milky Way with your naked eye. That evening, something shifts inside you.

At last. Elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes – at the waterhole, at eye level, no glass. Game drives at sunrise. The moment a herd of elephants drinks 10 meters from your vehicle. This is why you're here.

The Kavango River: wide, mighty, the border to Angola. Crocodiles in the water, hippos on the banks, a world that feels like another planet. Here it turns green, colorful, alive. Encounters with local communities, fishing on the river, the real Africa.

Through Botswana to Zimbabwe. The largest waterfalls on Earth. You hear the thunder before you see them. The perfect finale: overwhelming, humbling, unforgettable. You are no longer the person who landed in Windhoek 15 days ago.

In 2016, I landed in Windhoek. One suitcase, a few thousand euros, no Plan B. I founded Dusty Foot Tours and built a safari business from scratch – with everything that entails: flat tires, forgotten lunches, guides who don't show up. And guests who said: "Best trip ever."
I don't know this country from travel catalogs. I know the roads, the smells, the people. I know where the elephants drink in the evening. I know which lodge has the best steak. And I know that the best moment of a safari is never in the itinerary.
Operations on the ground are run together with my local partner team from Dusty Foot Tours in Namibia – experienced guides who know the country inside and out.
"I thought I knew what a safari was. Then came the night at Spitzkoppe. That starlit sky shifted my entire worldview."
"Christian isn't a typical guide. He shows you Africa through his eyes – and suddenly you see more than animals and landscapes. You see people and stories."
"The best decision of my year. The mix of adventure and comfort was perfect. And at the Kavango, for the first time in years, I just sat and did nothing. That was priceless."
